The Oakleaf Brewing Company Ltd. is a family brewery based in Gosport, Hampshire.

 

The Brewery, founded in March 2000 by Dave Pickersgill (MD) and his son in law Ed Anderson (Head Brewer), produced its first brew in December of the same year.

 

The Company was formed to create and provide a range of superior cask-conditioned ales to the public by supplying and delivering to establishments throughout the south of England, and further a field through various distributors.

   

At present the Brewery is run by Dave Pickersgill, Ed Anderson is the head brewer. There are 4 employed staff: a company administrator (Dave's daughter but not the one married to Ed!!), the Dockyard Bar Manager(Dave's daughter, again not married to Ed!!), a brewery operative and a dray person. We have 2 very experienced and cheery bar staff, Lynn (Dave's Wife) and Kate who always has a smile during any function!

The Oakleaf Brewing Company has already achieved various awards from local Beer Festivals. Hole Hearted 4.7%, one of its original ales, has been voted by Camra to be The Champion Beer of Hampshire 2002, 2003 & 2005 and Champion Beer of the Festival at Gosport Beer Festival 2004 and Southampton Beer Festival 2004. Maypole Mild has also won our first National Award, achieving the Mild Gold Award for the SIBA National Competition 2004.

 

Oakleaf is a growing micro brewery and at present does not own any public houses but beers can be sampled at various good free houses and local pubs including The Hole In The Wall, Southsea, The Winchester Arms, Portsmouth, The Clarence Tavern, Gosport, The Stags Head, Westbourne, The Solent Inn, Ryde, The Blacksmiths Arms, Chichester, The White Lion, Soberton and The White Horse, Wallington.
